Heavy fines on Farangs walking without a Thai LadyOn April 1st 2008 Pattaya Police will slap heavy fines on Farangs walking in Pattaya without a Thai Lady!Pattaya Police informed the public today, that it will slap heavy fines on all unmated Farangs walking in Pattaya on April 1st 2008.According to the Police the following streets in Pattaya will be ‘taboo’ for unmated Farangs:Walking Street
Beach Road
Second Road
Naklua Road
Soi 2, 6, 7 and 8
Soi Pratamnak
as well as all Sois between Soi Pratamnak and Walking Street, including Soi Diamond and Soi 16 and all Sois between Soi Buokhaow and Second Road.The only street Pattaya Police will not show off is Soi Pattayaland. ‘Soi Pattayaland belongs to Boyz Town and Boyz Town isn’t Pattaya, it’s a lawless enclave’, Police said.
The fine will be 2′000 Baht for each unmated Farang and will be collected between 18:00 and 03:00 on April 1st 2008.
The money will be distributed to all ladies working in Pattaya not having the chance to stay with a wealthy Farang.
Lonely ladies can register their names and phone numbers from 20:00 to 02:00 at the mobile office from Tourist Police on Waking Street.
To register they need a valid identity card only and a mobile phone.
Tourist Police will help them to get a suitable partner or will distribute a voucher.
Holders of a voucher can claim the money the following day at Pattaya Police Station on Soi 9 from 09:00 till 24:00.
According to a spokesman from Pattaya Police 100% of the collected money will be distributed to the ladies.
Exceptionally the Police will not ask any ‘tea money’, not even a tip, the spokesman said.
‘Pattaya Police fully understands that the current situation is a threat for all ladies in Pattaya. With this action Pattaya Police likes to help ladies who are suffering from the current enforcing of the 02:00 closing time. Pattaya Police likes to show that it has a great sympathy to all Thai ladies working here in Pattaya. But Pattaya Police has to follow the instruction from Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobumrung who ordered police across the country to strictly enforce a 02:00 closing time at all nightlife venues’, the spokesman added.
